Our Mission

Riverina and District Animal Rescue Incorporated is a group of volunteers that rescue and rehome companion animals throughout the Riverina region of NSW and the ACT. Our primary concern is saving those animals that are in the pound system as they are on limited time, as well as those animals that have been abandoned or neglected.
RADAR Inc is a not-for-profit organisation and we receive no Government assistance. All of our work is funded through the generosity of the community and the dedication of our members in raising funds. All monies received are used towards the rescue, rehabilitation and care of the animals until each is rehomed into a compatible life long home.
Animals are in kept in care, loved and nurtured as part of their foster family until the right home comes along, this may be anywhere from a few weeks to many months, it is the commitment that each Foster Carer makes to each animal.

Cooper George

The dog featured in the RADAR logo is based on a local dog, named Cooper-George (pictured right). His image was adopted by RADAR in loving memory of Cooper-George's owner Heidi Lewis (nee Clarke) who tragically passed away in 2009, aged 29 years.

Heidi, a young Narrandera woman, was passionate about animals,an active RADAR supporter and remains a much loved member of our community.

Heidi's husband Steve and her parents Jenny and Abbey share Heidi's love of animals, and generously donated funds raised at her funeral and from her work colleagues at the Wagga Daily Advertiser to RADAR in memory of Heidi. We are  very thankful for their generosity which allowed RADAR to gain a much needed animal transport trailer, which displays our logo and a dedication to Heidi.
